GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

SOFTBALL MARATHON

1 – 6 giugno 2010

Questa società sportiva sta valutando l’organizzazione del tentativo di battere il Guinness per la partita di softball più lunga (Softball Marathon), da disputarsi il prossimo anno.

Il record attuale (che sta per essere registrato presso l’organizzazione del Guinness World Record) è stato ottenuto nel 2009 a Wasketeau, Alberta (Canada), ed è di 115 ore e 3 minuti.

L’obiettivo è quello di giocare per 120 ore; il tentativo di record si svolgerà sul campo di softball “Francesco Nespoli” di Caronno Pertusella (VA), che ha ospitato la finale del Campionato Europeo Femminile nel 2003 e quella della Coppa delle Coppe femminile nel 2006.

L'iniziativa sarà svolta in collaborazione con il Gruppo Alpini ed il relativo Gruppo di Protezione Civile di Caronno Pertusella, che hanno già organizzato ed ottenuto 2 record del Guinness negli scorsi anni, e che si occuperanno della parte logistica e delle manifestazioni di contorno (ristorante, musica, ecc.)

La partita per il tentativo di record inizierà alle ore 20.00 di martedì 1 giugno 2010, per concludersi alle 20.00 di domenica 6 giugno 2010.

SOFTBALL MARATHON

June 1st - June 6th, 2010

This team is planning an attempt to break the existing Guinness Longest Softball Game (Softball Marathon) record during the upcoming year 2010.

The existing record (which is in the process of being filed with The Guinness World Record organization) was obtained in 2009 in Wasketeau, Alberta (Canada), and is 115 hours and 3 min long.

Our goal is to play for 120 hours; the attempt to break the record will take place at the softball field “Francesco Nespoli” of Caronno Pertusella (VA) – Italy.

Caronno Pertusella is a small town 20 Km north of Milan, close to Milan Malpensa International airport, and easily reachable by public transportation. This field hosted the 2003 European Women Fastpitch Softball Championship and the 2006 European Cup Softball Fastpitch - Women "A" tournaments.

The game will start on June 1st 2010, at 20.00 and will finish on June 6th 2010 at 20.00.
